'You Learn by Living You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." You must do the thing you think you cannot do.'
- Eleanor Roosevelt |

I describe myself as a holistic coach, facilitator and diversity specialist who can engage with people, from any walk of life, around their lived experience and hear their story. How this impacts on our lives, livelihoods and communities. Such insights applied to the business world can have profound effects on the efficient and effective functioning of individuals, teams and their companies.
Richard McKenny
I trained as a pharmacy dispenser in the Royal Navy medical branch. In 1983/4 I completed an Institute of Curative Hypnotherapy Diploma. I have continued to expand my appreciation of complimentary medicine- subscribing to WDDTY studying NLP and Emotional Freedom Technique. I posess nearly two decades experience of training, this includes delivery, program design and personal development work. In addition to this I have undertaken a BSc degree, Post-Graduate Certificates in Education and Faciliation & Leadership. In 2007 I completed a Master Practitioner Diploma in FIRO Theory and Facilitation.
I design and innovatively deliver Interview courses, Stress Management and Performance Management products; and have adapted and re-designed, and delivered First Contact training. More recently I successfully worked with community partners facilitating Race and Diversity issues and how this impacts on service delivery. I am a coach and experienced facilitator at service delivery, management and leadership levels. I have designed and delivered trainer training.
I have worked in the following organisations in varying roles;
- Royal Navy Medical Branch
- The Princess Grace Hospital London
- Metropolitan Police Service
- As an Independent Coach Consultant Facilitator
My ongoing professional development continues with ‘clean language’ and coaching accreditation with the Association of Coaching. I also continue to support work in the diversity field, most recently at several Violence Against Women events in London.
I have been married for 33 years, we have a daughter and son, and a granddaughter and grandson. We have lived in Norfolk since 1989. I am health conscious, exercise regularly and love words, especially poetry.
I facilitate, coach and mentor; support, encourage and nurture. I choose to honour people and their lived experience. I choose also to stay in the enquiry, to act, to reflect and to modify my actions as reality changes. I love living life live.
I am also very pleased to be part of a collaborative, cooperative and co-created network of like-minded people who have shared the journey to find autonomy, self-development and growth. What we do

Testimonial
Throughout the time that Richard McKenny was my coach and mentor I felt a more competent and empowered human being. He gave me guidance and allowed me space to explore my inner self, without judgement. I am thankful for the time I spent with him.

(Double Loop Learning)
Is about open enquiry into what is really going on, shared ownership and continual monitoring of self-situation-impact. It is a reflective practice that is inclusive and holistic, raises authenticity and is essential for effective lasting change. |

The Reason
Let me embrace it all and refute the collusion
that the life we lead is one of confusion..
for the seeds of our fate are stuck in the illusion,
that we are the victims of life, a sad collective delusion;
not one of hope and faith. That there can be a fusion
between those polar extremes embracing life; loving confusion
sitting in mindful awareness not jumping to myriad conclusions
- being - and accepting what ‘is’, seeking the joyous collision
of being alive - the paradox of standing in and for the decision.
Not murdering choice; blaming no-one, accepting the truth in contrition,
that we are not only connected-there’s no need for competition
-for together we journey to that state of completion.
The point of it all Is a lifelong decision
of rounded reflection and loving inclusion
